How to Test Purity of Saffron (3 Steps)

Many a times people are worried of being cheated with adulterated Kashmiri Saffron at low cost available at local retail stores and online.

In this post we will be sharing couple of simple yet powerful steps to #check #purity #of #saffron before purchasing.

The major producers of antiquity Iran, Spain, India, and Greece continue to dominate the world trade. Of which #Kashmiri #Saffron often called as "Lachha" or "Guchhi" is world famous for its health benefits and fragrance. The high cost of #Pure #Kashmiri #Saffron is due to the difficulty of manually extracting large numbers of minute stigmas, which are the only part of the #crocus (threads) with the desired aroma and flavor.

An excessive number of flowers need to be processed in order to yield marketable amounts of saffron. Obtaining 1 lb (0.45 kg) of dry saffron requires the harvesting of some 50,000 flowers, the equivalent of football pitch's area. We at Pure Mart take full care of Quality, standards and adulteration free strands for your well being..

There are quite a few #simple and #genuine tests which you can do at home while buying saffron to #test purity of saffron:

1. Kashmiri Saffron contains Croccus compound (i.e. Crocin) which make its taste bitter. You can take 1 or 2 strand in between your teeth and taste for bitterness and hence serves a active agent to maintain body temperature. Adulterated saffron may be sweet in taste.

2. Kashmiri Saffron once mixed with hot milk or water shall not leave its original (reddish color) color but should give golden color. Adulterated saffron threads will turn white and give more colour.

3. Kashmiri Saffron should have low moisture and should not be dried and crisp. #Storage of Saffron: Place it into a air tight box (Prefer Plastic container)and keep it in a cool, dark, and dry place, away from sunlight. It helps strand to retain Croccus compound for longer use.

Apart from the above tests, also be informed that the original Saffron does not dissolve in Milk.

You can buy 100% Pure Saffron from www.puremart.in and check for any of above mentioned tests.

We are here for a healthy cause and with a mission to eliminate adulteration and one source directly from Kashmir.
